Did you know you can make your own healthy marshmallow recipe? And there is such a thing as nutritious marshmallows? Not the store bought ones though. Those are packed with processed fake foods that cause inflammation. Here\’s how you can make your very own healthy marshmallow recipe.

It\’s super simple, quick and easy.

What are some benefits of real marshmallows?

  • it doesn\’t stop working until it get\’s to your colon. This means is helps with acid reflux, heartburn, stomach ulcers, diarrhea and constipation
  • activates the immune system through phagocytosis – a process which removes damaged or dead cells from the body

Recipe:

  • 1/3 cup cold water
  • 1 Tbsp gelatin – preferably from grass fed cows
  • 2/3 – 3/4 cup organic maple syrup or honey
  • 1 tsp vanilla
  • 1/4 tsp himalayan salt
  • arrowroot
  • 1 Tbsp marshmallow root powder

Instructions:

  1. Place cold water in a small saucepan and sprinkle the gelatin over water. Once the gelatin is softened, gently heat until totally dissolved.
  2. In a large bowl with whisk attachment mix maple syrup, vanilla extract, marshmallow root powder and salt.
  3. Using a hand held mixer or stand mixer, turn on low and slowly pour the water and gelatin mixture into the bowl with maple syrup blend. Turn the mixer on high.
  4. Whip on medium high about 5-10 minutes, until mixture forms soft peaks and doubles in size.
  5. Wet a spatula and pour into a greased 9 inch glass baking dish. Smooth out.
  6. Let set up for 2-3 hours. Cut into squares and roll in arrowroot and to reduce stickiness. May also sprinkle some cinnamon on top. Store in airtight container.

I love putting marshmallows in my Peppermint Hot Chocolate or with my coffee.
